Insurance Brokerage Firm
Medium Project: Custom design new single user database
Click to see full size picture. The client needed a new database that would allow employees to quickly enter, verify, and export insurance enrollment information. Access Update designed and built a custom stand-alone database that allows for fast data entry and does not require the use of a mouse. The program checks to see if required information has been entered and logs any missing data. It then generates letters for each employee either requesting the missing information or confirming enrollment. A text file of all batch data is created for importing into a larger database.
Commercial Roofing Company
Large Project: Custom design new multi-user database
Click to see full size picture. The client needed a way for Sales Staff and Customer Service to quickly locate all of the work history for each jobsite. They were currently managing data for bids, jobs, drawings, photos, customers and warranty information in a variety of formats including a proprietary accounting system, Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel. Access Update designed and built a custom database that archives all of the data into one secure multi-user Access database that is shared across the network. It imports the accounting data and assigns a project number to track related information.

Small Project: Troubleshoot and enhance existing database
Click to see full size picture. The client was having problems with incorrect data in their database. Access Update analyzed the problem and determined the source was poorly designed tables, relationships, and data entry forms. We redesigned the database, cleaned the data, and incorporated data validation into the data entry forms. We also modified the customer form to search for and display possible alternate names and addresses to help locate duplicate records.
Plumbing & Irrigation Company
Small Project: Enhance existing database
Click to see full size picture. The client wanted to create and print service tickets and invoices from within an existing customer database. Access Update added the new functions along with tables and forms to maintain data for parts, equipment, and labor. An additional section was added so the user could automatically transfer a record from contact from the Estimate table to the Contacts table when an estimate was accepted by the customer and became a job.
